As we told you before Egypt has a lot of virgin places that really little amount of people know about and our target in this series is to reveal this hidden beauty and get it to your screen, motivate you to go and see it by yourself and finally discover your own home country

White Desert

The White Desert is part of the Western Desert of Egypt, that makes you feel like you tarevelled back in time to stone ages again. Pure beauty in its most marvelous way. Well that feeling you get when you see it, like you went back in time millions of years is totally explainable.

And of course the cherry on top of the activities in the White desert is ” Camping “. Spending the night in a Million Star hotel is such an amazing experience that no one should miss. just you , your sleeping bag and the stars, those little twinkling lights billions of them right there above you will draw a smile of satisfaction on your face. The sound of silence around you will hit your soul so hard making you feel so energized and alive. As the sun sweeps slowly and gracefully, it will wake you up to the most graceful scene. The vast white area reflecting the shades of Orange and red will make your heart melt. Bahariya_Oasis

Local Tours of the Bahariya oasis can be taken via 4×4 jeep or camel.  Our tours run from ½ day, to full day, to overnight camping along the ridges of the oasis.
Natural sights on the tours include: Pyramid Mountain, the vast palm groves, English Mountain, and the great salt lake and climbing various sand dunes.
Archaeological tours include: the ancient Egyptian Ain Muftella temple and chapels, ancient Egyptian tombs, the temple of Alexander the Great, and the local Bahariya museum which features 12 mummies from the Valley of the Golden Mummies

The White desert is formed by the ocean and the sea creatures that did exist 80 millions of years ago, which is a huge time ago . After millions of years and decades you can now just visit it in the 20th centuries, clearly see the fossils indicating the past life of this desert every where. Just astonishing piece of land and history you nearly had no idea it did exist here in Your own country Egypt,  just 500 kilometres from Cairo .

am guide islam ‘native of Bahariya Oasis. I am from a Bedouin family, born and raised in this part of the desert, and I love to share my beautiful desert home with others. We conduct all tours according to our traditional way of life so you can have a glimpse of our rich Bedouin culture.

I have been leading desert safaris for more than 15 years now, covering all of the western desert from Wadi Hetan (Whale Valley) in Fayoum to the border of Sudan and Libya, including Egypt’s five oases (Bahariya, Farafra, Dakhla, Kharga and Siwa), the White Desert, the Black Desert, the Great Sand Sea, Djara Cave and all the valleys. Black Desert

The Black Desert is a region of volcano-shaped mountains with large quantities of small black stones. The stones lie out across the orange-brown ground, so that it is not quite as black as many people may hope for. Especially after visiting the White Desert, which has formation that are really white, many will imagine a desert as dramatic as this.
Climbing one of the many soft peeks, the view from the top is really nice, with similar peeks continuing on into the haze.

Sparkling like diamonds
The name “mountain” is result of Arabic speakers using the word for mountain also for formations that are really small. The Crystal Mountain is not really a mountain, rather a rock or ridge.
But “crystal” is a correct description, and a stop here is definitely worth the time. Resembling the crystals of the Superman movies, the quartz crystals manage to fascinate most visitors. Although you should not break off crystals from the rock, there are plenty of loose crystals spread around on the ground. Walking away from the most frequented parts, there are crystal lumps as big as footballs.
There is also a natural arch here, man-high.

Types of Tours

We can cater for anything you desire, from two up to twenty nights camping in the desert, anywhere in Egypt – from the border with Libya in the west to Sudan in the south. We are based in the Bahariya Oasis but can take you to the Gilf Al-Kabir (The Great Barrier) region in the south-west of Egypt. We are very flexible and will do our utmost to design your tour around what you want to do. Our most popuar trips in the Bahariya Oasis region are to the Black Desert, the White Desert, Crystal Mountain, the Black Mountain, the Old White Desert, the sand dunes, and the Salt Lake.
